After a foundation week , I start to unveil my own secret drawing techniques.

 Each Lesson has will have three major video ‘events’
and chances for you to upload homework.

On Mondays you will have your Posing Lesson where we work on standing,
sitting, walking, twisting, turning, frolicking, strutting figures.
Lots of a-ha moments as you unravel your ideas that drawing is complicated!

On Wednesdays your Details Lesson will concentrate on a particular body areas:
Legs, arms, torso, back etc…
so you feel confident with constructing your figures.
On Fridays you will find your Inspiration Session,
where you will be able to have a peek over my shoulder
and see a whole page illustration using all sorts of  mixed media come alive.

I have also created lots of exciting downloadable reference materials
to illustrate the lessons.

Each week we will build the body step-by-step until we have built up beautiful, complex, layered illustrations.

But you are not learning by rote.
Your own style is encouraged to shine.
My techniques foster your own creativity
( pretty awesome, right?!).

My first job out of school was as a fashion illustrator.
I had no training ( just one of those “kids that could draw”)
and I had to produce drawings all day long.
I went on to study at Fashion schools in London, Paris and in Australia,
and became a textile and fashion designer in my own right.

In that time I developed my own drawing system to easily get my fashion croquis
in proportion, create interesting shapes and dynamic end results.

And now I would love to share my unique drawing system with you!

Classes are video based, where you can draw along with me. Downloadable templates to use as guides will be provided.

My teaching style is fun, creative and always aims to be inspirational.

“I’m not an artist, nor do I have an Art Journal, I’m not even sure I am ‘creative’, but I do love collecting art supplies… Can I join in?” Of course! You don’t have to be an artist or even have to know what an ‘Art Journal’ is to get involved. Supplies Me has enough juice for all levels of arty experience. I will be there to hold your hand and give feedback on your work. Yes, there will be some fantastic, creative drawings posted, but with practice you will feel your work is just as wonderful. you have to start somewhere, right? it may as well be now!

All you need is an internet connection, the creative itch, a  journal and a pencil! You may WANT to get more supplies, but it will be an informed decision and no more expensive trial and error.

What is an ‘Art Journal’ or ‘Visual Journal’?

It’s a mix of diary, travel memoir, autobiography, art therapist, visual diary, notebook, scrapbook and sketchbook….plus more…

It’s a place, YOUR space, to record and work through your life experience in images, words, colours and collage. There are NO RULES, but there is a wonderful and growing community of people around the world who keep an ‘Art Journal‘.

I am an avid Art Journal keeper. I find it meditative and nourishing.

If I have a crappy day, or someone has ‘done me wrong’, I blurt it all out in my journal, turn the page and let it sit there for a bit. And a few days  or a weeks later, I then paint over it and create something lovely on top. It cathartic, truly.

So many of my ideas and inspiration come to me while I am with my Journal.

I journal everyday…sometimes a little, sometimes alot. I love making lists of ‘to-do’s’ in my journal, and when I’ve ticked everything off, I turn it in to a ‘Ta-DAH!’ list by painting and drawing all over it….can you tell I LOVE it?!

“I’ve never done an Online course – what’s involved?

Once you register, you will be sent an invite to Join my Artomology Network  I will include the password you need and all instructions. Once you are ‘inside’ the Artomology network, you will join the ‘Supplies Me’ Group. And then you can start the Supplies Me adventure. It’s fun!

“Do i HAVE to show my drawings and artwork?”

No, but your creativity, artistic ability and drawing confidence will improve exponentially if you do…I will be encouraging you to share your work with our group. There is no judgement, just support, helpful feedback and encouragement.

“What Supplies will I need?”

Very Little – a journal and pencil is enough to get you started…but, of course you can add some fantastic art materials to your stash. Tracing paper is handy too for the first week.

I am a veteran of many, many online classes myself, and I can’t tell you the stress and heartache downloading videos seems to cause! Let alone the room they take up on our computers. So I have decided to host my videos on a robust, professional, paid service from Vimeo. An added advantage is  I can update them if information changes. They will be compatible with all existing technology including ipads and iphones. DVD’s of the class may be offered in the future.
