Weekend Workshop at the Nest, overlooking Byron Bay

You are encouraged to bring copies of your existing artwork to be reimagined, favourite art supplies to rediscover and journals to share if you have them.

Participants are best served by having completed at least one of my online classes. This is so you are warmed up and ready to wring the best out of me and the workshop. You will feel comfortable and eager to move beyond the basics and into more exciting territory if you are familiar with my style and teaching style.

The Institute of Cute Shop  is open for Art Supply purchases.

It will be a busy and productive weekend spent with kindred creative spirits in a truly special place. I will send you home exhausted, exhilarated and absolutely bursting with inspiration!

“Jane delivered a massive creative boost backed up with a magic way of transferring concrete skills to us, her students.  I experienced one artistic aha-moment after another. Jane genuinely cared about each student’s progress and seamlessly managed all the differing levels of skill and experience in the classroom. Weeks after the workshop I am still feeling the effects and seeing  my work in a whole new light.

Byron Bay Accomodation ideas:

The Nest is just 15 minutes from Main Beach, Byron Bay.  There is a ton of places to stay. Also look at Accommodation in Mullumbimby, Coorabell and Brunswick Heads. It is ‘Schoolies’ time, so Byron Bay will be full of great people watching, but it may be a bit noisy!

If you are after luxury, The Byron at Byron and Peppers at Coorabell are lovely.

I’m confused, is the supplies list covered in the price or do participants need to buy the Supplies List (Matte paint, Liquidtex, Prismacolour pencils, paint brushes etc.) on top of the tuition fee ???
I’m interested in this weekend’s workshop if there’s still a place but don’t want to have to buy $100s in supplies on top of the workshop price.

    • Hi Sally,
I hope you decide to join us!
The list is pretty modest and all supplies you would go on using.
You will need paintbrushes, matte medium and some gesso . you can bring any brand, but Liquitex is the best for the techniques I show you. We sell small bottles and I have some to share.

I have Serviettes to share, but it’s nice to swap some with the other participants if you bring some.
The Dabber paints are $8, and we sell them too because they are awesome and hard to find!
Prismacolors – we sell individually, so thats not expensive either.

If you have any more questions just ask.
If you are ready to book email hello @ instituteofcute.com

Sorry Jane, need to give it a miss this weekend, just not enough time to organise the hubby and teeny one. Hope to make it sometime next year if you hold these workshops again. Have a great weekend!

  7. Jannine says:

Hi Jane. Can you please tell me what times your workshop goes for in the Perth Workshop?

  8. Jane Carlisle says:

    Hi Jane and Angus
I have holidays confirmed! And I can come to the April workshop. I just need to books flight and find out what time the day starts on Saturday and Sunday as the hubby and kids will be travelling with me and will need to know times to drop me off and pick me up. Staying with a friend at Dunoon.
    WooHoo

  9. Jessica says:

    Hi Jane,
I’d absolutely LOVE to join your weekend workshop in April… if work allows me! I was wondering, I have not yet completed Supplies Me – I know you mentioned above, it is important to have completed at least one of your on-line workshops.
Would it be better for me to complete Supplies Me first, then aim for a Byron Bay workshop next year (if you still have them on then?)? Thank you!
    Jess

    • The reason I say to have completed one of my workshops is so you Are feeling creatively confident! Ad this is one of the gifts my online workshops deliver. But if you are already feeling that way already , you will be ok!

  10. Jessica says:

    P.S.
Will there be any other of your Byron Bay workshops later on this year?? (Just thinking about work…)
    Thank you!

  11. Oh dear I think I missed the dates.
