PROPbugANDA!
PROPbugANDA! was created during Jane Davenport's trip to Vietnam with Earthwatch in July 2004.
As part of the scientific expedition, Jane helped collect and count butterflies for a Vietnamese Scientist Vu Vien Lien, who is collating butterfly population data to qualify their use as reliable environmental indicators. The Tam Dao National Park is regarded as one of the world's prime butterfly habitats and Jane found it held far more than just the fleet of wing. PROPbugANDA features amazing Vietnamese creatures from furry ladybirds , florescent yellow and black striped grasshoppers to polka-dotted longicorns and plenty more besides.
Featured here are just a few of over 80 completed artworks.Jane considers this just the start of a collection that will grow with further visits to Vietnam and surrounding areas.
PROPbugANDA! was first featured in a Gallery setting at The Gasworks, in Melbourne September 2004
