Ladybirdelicious poster for Jane Davenport photographic art exhibition at the Wilderness Gallery , Tasmania

These are some of the images from my solo exhibition at the famous Wilderness Gallery, Cradle Mountain, in Tasmania.

Artist Statement for LadybirDelicious:

It’s hard not to see the world in symbols. In the effort to cope with the inordinate amount of information thrown at us, our minds must break down all that matter into smooth form and simple rules. It’s difficult to be seen as unique.  But to let the law of averages rule our aesthetic lives means losing the infinite variety that makes life in all it’s intricacy such a pleasure to witness.
We want to be regarded as individuals, but rarely are. It’s even harder if you are an icon.

In LadybirDelicious the most easily visually simplified of all creatures is shown  in a series of 59 portraits as individuals. Even just this one little beetle comes in a delightful cornucopia of design and color. (They are not all red with a few black dots!)

Ladybirdelicious  aims to have you looking at the world with flower-fresh eyes.
