You know when something just feels right? You make your decision easily. That was how I decided to host my first Workshop in my new Home and Studio, ‘The Nest’. I decided at the Brisbane Craft Show that it was time, I made a sign, and the Workshop is nearly full already.

 Creativity makes a leap, then looks to see where it is.

This is the first workshop in my new space.  When we first had the news that the property was ours, it felt too magical to not be a dream. I thought I would share every second of moving, organising and customising this joyful space. But the reality has been to keep it rather private so far. But I’m ready to share and  fling the doors of my studio open, fluff the pillows on the verandah chairs and invite my students in…I can’t wait now actually….!

I want the whole weekend to feel like an Arty Party! And just like the magical Bali experience, I want to send everyone home equal parts exhausted, exhilarated, relaxed and inspired! I have planned a weekend of mixed media mayhem… I want a big colourful mess to be strewn across the art spaces.

Angus will create lunch for us on his fancy bbq ( it has glass elements inside it – it’s cool!). And he will roast our own handpicked coffee for everyone! It smells so good… I can’t wait to take everyone koala spotting. Moo and Tinsel will no doubt make some lovely new friends. If it’s hot we can jump in the pool. If it’s cold we can cartwheel around to warm up.

It will be a fun and intense whirlwind of a weekend, creating whimsical, beautiful, mixed-media faces and figures. Lots of drawing and painting techniques for making gorgeous artwork and letting your creativity flow from your heart and onto the page.
