As you can see – there is a change in the air – well in my site design anyway! The changes will keep on arriving over the coming weeks…

But there has been a bit of a life altering NEW happening to me as well… I just moved house. And when I say house, I mean “Dream Home”. We call it The Nest. It’s a timber pole home nestled into the hinterland overlooking  Byron Bay.

When I first found out we were successful in securing this place of trees, fruit and koalas I thought I would be shouting from the rooftop for all to hear… but I have kept it pretty quiet. Whenever I talk about it I feel as if I am showing off. But maybe that is because this is my dream house. I’m the one who can’t get over the fact that it’s even real.

We have gone from no view or garden to the absolute polar opposite.

For the first few weeks here I couldn’t help waking up at 4.30 am every morning so I could watch the sunrise from the huge front verandah. I journal as the world wakes up, all bundled up in blankies (It’s been a wet and cold winter!). I am happy, like in the center of my being, happy.

The doglettes love it of course. But we did spot  a MASSIVE Eastern Brown snake cruising along in the gardena few weeks ago, so I don’t let Moo and Tinsel wander around on their own!

We have a professional Gardener giving us a ‘tour’ of the property next week, so we can get a handle on the abundance of things growing here. The gardens really are amazing and a stroll through them starts at the palm grove, goes through the bananas, past the chook pen, macadamia , mango and other  whacky fruit trees (star fruit, jack fruit and custard apples!), across a sprawling , shade dappled lawn to a short rain forest trek, into the ginger and frangipani garden and out and into the Eucalypt forest. All of this goes around the house. There’s even a swimming pool – roll on summer!

Moving was a huge deal, but we had the LUXURY of moving over a month. Some days were just plain scary. But Angus and I just got stuck into unpacking, and assimilating each truckload of our lives. It’s been quite an adventure working out where everything goes.

My art Studio is called ‘The Mermaid Lounge”. It looks out to the Palm grove and a huge frangipani tree.

I’ll post pics of the next stages later.

My office is upstairs and called “The Perch”. It looks out into the tree tops.

So there you have it! In amongst moving I decided to run Supplies Me as a Live class again and add a whole new week to the class and to re-do this blog site. Why? Because I am crazy. Crazy in love with life.

    Jane it looks sooooooooo beautiful!!!!
I am thrilled to see your new place and it looks like the Garden of Eden! Stunning and seemingly untouched !
Your face says it all how happy you are to be there too.
I wanted to ask; when you are sitting in your armchair with the dog in your lap; what is that giant thing that looks like a floor cushion next to you? Why I ask is it looks like something I have seen recently in a specialist shop…is it..?
I won’t say what Im thinking…but it looks specifically like a item that helps you to “chill”? Am I on the right track..?

  6. Melanie says:

Welcome to your tree house ‘Team Paw’. It’s a gorgeous place for EVEN MORE of your dreams to become your reality. Byron Lighthouse & Danger Jane – one in the same in my book! Congrats Team!
PS I believe Joe Blakes don’t like PawPaw & that if you ‘ring’ the house with pieces of the skin & a bit of the flesh (at a distance of course, that should keep the critters at bay.

  20. Lynette Forgan says:
